Dear Nash,
I am having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that you are 2 years old! The second year definitely went faster than the first. Looking back at myself, I'm not sure I would recognize the lady I was before you were born. You've changed me and my life in so many WONDERFUL ways! The main difference is this: you've increased my capacity to love. Not just you...everyone! And, most importantly, God! What a precious gift you are!
Let's see...at 2 years old, you are very active, quite precocious, pretty funny, but mostly sweet. You are into all things locomotive and automotive. I can't just say trains and cars b/c you will quickly correct me - you like to specify: pick-up truck, trash truck, school bus, trolley tractor, rumble tractor, Jeep, race car, etc... You even know the names of all your Thomas trains (and I have to look on the bottom to tell the difference). You still love the outdoors, so we spend alot of time in the back yard, at the park, and on walks. Today, you amazed me with your instructions: "I wanna go walk. Mama push Nash in jogging stroller. I go get your shoes." And you did! So, we did. You continue to be a little lover of music. You frequently make up your own silly songs and jam out on your guitar. You still make song requests at bedtime. The current faves are: "Jesus Loves Me", "Holy, Holy, Holy", "You are My Sunshine", and "Going to Bible Class" (a song Daddy made up). You also love books. Story time is one of my favorite times of the day b/c now you are starting to memorize what each page says and you read it back to me. You also love babies (esp Baby Jack)! Daddy says this means its time for a sister. I don't know about that just yet - you keep me on my toes! I am most proud of how kind you are - you really care about others' feelings. I look forward to watching you continue to grow and mature. I'm blessed to be your Mommy.
Here are some pics from your birthday festivities:
Nash and Pawpaw had some private play time
This is Nash's reaction when he woke up on his birthday morning and saw his train table for the first time. I think we did good!
