Poor, poor Nash! If there was a contest for "Mother of the Year" I would officially withdraw my application. Nash has had a couple of mishaps this week - all pertaining to , what else??? - POOP!
First of all, Sunday after church we went to lunch with Mark's family. Nash, with his
impeccable timing, decided to have a
poopy blow out just as our food arrived. So, I took him out to the car and changed him. I put him back in the
carseat, but didn't strap him in, to go back inside. Sadly, the
carseat handle was not fully locked in the upright position, so as we were walking, the
carseat tilted and poor Nash went rolling out onto the Red Lobster parking lot. Thank goodness he only got a little bruise on his head! I cried longer than he did! Needless to say, I'm now double and triple-checking the
carseat handle.
THEN, Monday I decide to go to
Wal-Mart. He had already had his morning blow out, so, thinking we were probably safe, I only took a diaper and some wipes in my purse instead of the whole diaper bag. Half-way through my shopping list, I see the red face and hear the unmistakable sound of another explosion. Yep! It's ANOTHER blow out, folks! I do not have a change of clothes for him, so, at this point I think it's best if I just check out real quick and go home. He's screaming the whole time we are in the check out line and people are staring and I'm trying to go as fast as possible. Finally, I'm loading when my car when I see yellow goo on my bags. "Funny - I didn't buy mustard!" I say to myself as the realization hits me. The poop has flowed out of his shorts, down out of the bottom of the
carseat, down the shopping cart to the groceries, AND as I look back in the parking lot, I notice the faint yellow trail we've also left behind. There's no telling how long the trail was since he had
his blow out in the Dairy department! I was mortified! So, I did what any self-respecting mother would do - I loaded Nash up as quickly as possible and went home! Yes - I am the reason we should all use shopping cart covers.
